OK, so it’s official. I am mildly obsessed with the Games on MadeBig.

They have all the things about online games that I love - you compete against the clock, yourself (by trying to get your best score) and the rest of the gamers on MadeBig (by trying to get on the high score leaderboard). AND there’s so many to choose from!
I don’t want to admit how many minutes (::cough:: hours ::cough::) I’ve spent bouncing from game to game trying to get the highest score. Although my obsession is borderline unhealthy, I have noticed that I’m really hooked on one game in particular and since it’s only ONE game, it’s really not that bad. Is it?

Mahjongg Toy Chest is my game of choice at the moment; however, I have found that the “rules” are seriously lacking in the “you really need to know this in order to get the most points possible” department. It’s like someone sat down and thought of the most BASIC rules they could think of (1. Click two matching tiles to remove them. 2. Only free tiles can be selected. Free tiles are not covered by any other tiles and have a free edge on the left or right side.) but then threw in some “oh and if you do THIS, bonus for you!” options.
To be honest, I haven’t figured out all the little tricks there are to this game, but I did come across a few point builders over the many puzzles I have played. Keep in mind that I am only sharing this with all of you in order to keep it an even playing field. I’m in competition with quite a few people (you know who you are) to stay on the High Score Leaderboard and I think it’s time to let the cat out of the bag so that we can see who truly earns a high score.
What helps you get a high score on Mahjongg Toy Chest:
- When you’re playing and you see a little penguin holding a trophy pop up on the right-hand side of the screen, be happy! Those penguins are your friends. They contain bonus points which are awarded at the end of the game.

- Play with your sound ON. I have found that clearing objects with the same sound (i.e. fishes and dolphins) results in a penguin trophy.
- NOTE: I have not cracked the entire code for those trophies quite yet, so there may be more to them then I’ve mentioned here. Curse you penguin trophies; your secrets elude me!
- Matching the guitars will result in a Guitar Riff Reshuffle. This will reshuffle all of the tiles remaining on the board.
- NOTE: You can only do this twice since there are only four guitar tiles on the board, so use them wisely.
- I strongly recommend NOT using the guitars as your final tile match to win the game. If you do that, the clock will continue to count down as the trophy bonuses are being added to your score.
- While the point of a mahjongg game is to match exact tiles, there are a few on the board that have more than one match:
- Any teddy bear (either yellow or brown) can match with another.
- Any present (either yellow or pink) can match with another.
- There is an option to Switch View at the top of the screen. This changes the view so that you are looking down on the layout; very helpful if you have a really tall stack of tiles next to a low one and you can’t see the open tiles.

- As with most timed games, the faster you go, the better! When you clear the board, you get bonus points for your trophies as well as how much time is on the clock.
Well that should be it. I’ve shared all my tidbits of knowledge about Mahjongg Toy Chest

…are you ready to try and beat my score??
